Many people have difficulty managing life situations. Whether dealing with anxiety, depression, panic attacks, a personality disorder, or post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), you are not alone. Often, having an animal present is a great reminder of that and a steadfast calming presence in your life.
Dogs are naturally affectionate and are biologically geared towards loyalty to a leader or pack. They want to bond, love and be loved. Resultantly, dogs can be a suitable medical recommendation to treat many emotional and mental disabilities.
If you have an emotional or mental disability and require the presence of an animal, you may qualify for an Emotional Support Animal (ESA) Letter at ECMM. Acquiring this will allow you to legally take your animal on airplanes and also to other public places. It will also qualify you for no-pet housing.
Please be aware that many services offer certification of an Emotional Support Animal, but they do not include a doctor’s letter. In order to validate certification with an airline or building manager, you must present a letter of prescription from a licensed mental health professional.
Contact Us today for more information or stop by to have your animal certified as an ESA. It is not required that you have the animal present at the appointment.
